Most classes can be completed in just a few hours.
You must complete the class instruction, demonstrate proper CPR technique, and successfully complete a short written test for each component to be certified.
Our certificates are issued by a local chapter of the American Red Cross. Any certificate you receive from us will be on the records of the American Red Cross.
It typically takes the Red Cross 5 to 7 business days after course completion to prepare certificates for our instructor's signature and mailing. Students are given a payment receipt indicating that certificates will be delivered within 14 days.
American Red Cross certificates are valid as follows:
| CPR Certificates | – | 1 year from the date of course completion | |
| First Aid Certificates | – | 3 years from the date of course completion |
Our instruction methods are so superior that we have never had a student fail to pass any of the American Red Cross courses taught by our instructor. Nearly all of our students have passed the required written examinations with a perfect score.
We use more effective hands-on, follow-along training methods where you learn by doing. Our methods allow students to acquire better skills in far less time than traditional courses.
Our instructor will personally help you to become competent — his goal is to develop skilled rescuers, not just get you certified.
The American Red Cross does not train online. Despite the representations made by many online CPR training sources, online CPR training certificates are not generally accepted. This is particularly true of most government agencies, employers, and schools.
Consider these obvious facts: 1) there is no supervision or live feedback when CPR is taught online, and 2) online training does not offer the opportunity to practice CPR where improper technique can be corrected.
Don’t waste your time and money with an online CPR course — instead get proper training from an authorized instructor of the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
In most cases, basic American Red Cross training and certification is universally accepted for work and school; however, professional level training and certification may be required for some lifeguards, athletic trainers, healthcare workers, or as a prerequisite for some healthcare education classes.
Please note that some governtment agencies, employers, and schools will only accept professional certification from the American Heart Association, while others will accept American Red Cross professional certification. Although our instructor holds American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (Professional) certification, he only teaches American Red Cross courses.
If you need certification to meet a job or school requirement, save yourself time and money by determining that the school, employer or government agency will accept a basic American Red Cross certificate before enrolling in any class with us.
Yes, the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer course is available by special arrangement. The Professional Rescuer course takes place over 2 full days at a significantly higher cost — click here to contact us for details.
If you have an unexpired American Red Cross certificate, you can take a “challenge” test at a reduced rate that involves demonstration of proper CPR technique and the successful completion of the standard written tests. Persons undertaking a challenge must do so correctly without any assistance (no question clarifications or other help may be provided).
The cost of a challenge re-certification is $20. Persons must present an unexpired American Red Cross certificate at the time testing is taken.
Persons with expired certificates, and those who cannot successfully challenge on the first attempt, need to complete the full course of instruction and testing for certification.
Lost American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certificates can be replaced for a $10 service charge. Please click here to contact us and we will direct you to someone at the American Red Cross who can assist you in replacing a lost certificate.

AED is the acronym for an Automatic External Defibrillator. An AED is a mechanical device that analyzes the heart's rhythm for any abnormalities; and, if necessary, the AED directs the rescuer to deliver an electrical shock to the victim using the device. The electric shock is called defibrillation, and it may help the heart to re-establish an effective rhythm of its own.
AED training and certification can be included in any of our CPR courses for a small additional charge (see the class price chart at the top of this page). Practice with an American Red Cross approved AED simulator is included as part of the instruction.
An Epi-Pen is a pen-sized mechanical device that automatically injects a dose of Epinephrine (commonly known as adrenaline). Epinephrine acts quickly to improve breathing, stimulate the heart and reverse hives and swelling around the face and lips. Epinephrine is used in emergencies to treat potentially dangerous allergic reactions to insect stings or bites, foods, drugs or other substances.
Epi-Pen training and certification can be included as a $5 add-on component to any CPR and/or First Aid course that we offer. Practice with an auto-injector simulator is included as part of the instruction. This course component is recommended for anyone who is highly allergic or for relatives and caregivers of highly allergic persons.
Our instructor has the following training and/or certifications:
Someone trained by our instructor successfully revived a victim who was unconscious and not breathing. The victim was pulled from underwater after having fallen headfirst several feet into a pool of a boulder-lined creek. The victim made nearly a 100% recovery despite serious head and spinal injuries.
In 2008, the County of San Bernardino presented our instructor with a Citizen's Lifesaving Medal for personally saving the life of an attempted murder victim who otherwise would have bled to death before paramedics arrived.
